Newry police arrest man wanted for rape and sexual assault

Police in Newry have arrested a 43 year old man on a European Arrest Warrant. The man was arrested in the Newry area on Saturday, 15th February on a warrant issued by Lithuania for rape and sexual assault. He appeared before Belfast Crown Court on Sunday, 16th February for an initial extradition hearing.
