Police charge man with ‘serious terrorist offences’
Detectives from Serious Crime Branch have charged a 34 year old man with belonging to or professing to belong to a proscribed organisation.
The charges are in connection with what police described as ‘significant and serious terrorist offences’ detected during an investigation by Serious Crime Branch on 10th November 2014 at a house in the Ardcarne Park area of Newry when 12 men were arrested.
The 34 year old man was arrested in the Belfast area on Friday.
He was also charged with conspiracy to possess explosives with intent to endanger life, preparation of terrorist acts and receiving training or instruction in the making or use of weapons for terrorism.

He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates Court today, Monday 24th October.
As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
