Kedco Newry plant still on track for commissioning
UK and Ireland based company Kedco has this week announced that civil works are currently being carried out on its proposed Newry site and that the company is still on target to commission the first 2 MW capacity for the second quarter of this year.
Newry Times reported in November that the company got the go ahead for its wood gasification plant in the city. Newry Times also reported that the company had made the first draw down of loan facilities for the plant.
It is Kedco’s estimation that once operational, the Newry plant will sell approximately 29 million kilowatt hours per annum of renewable energy to the national grid in Northern Ireland. The company has also forecast pre-tax earnings of approximately £1.9 million per year.
