The resurfacing will extend for approximately 1,800 metres from approximately 600 metres north of the junction of the Demoan Road to the junction with the Gambles Road.

To facilitate the works, it will be necessary to implement a road closure (Monday to Friday) between 0930 until 1630 from Monday 10 June until Friday 5 July 2024.

The dates and duration of the road closures will depend on the scheme’s progress and favourable weather conditions.

To help ensure the safety of road users and road workers, the public is asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions and follow the signed diversionary route via A27 Church Street, A27 Chapel Street, A27 Tandragee Road, A27 Poyntzpass Road, A27 Auglish Road, A27 Scarva Road, B3 Markethill Road, B3 Moyrourkan Road, B3 Tandragee Road, A28 Gosford Road, A27 Newry by-pass, A1 Newry by-pass and A1 Tandragee Road.

Access for the emergency services and property owners will be maintained; however, delays may be experienced.

The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience.

However, road users should expect some delays, are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works, and are asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions.
