Sheridan concern at burglaries in Warrenpoint and Rostrevor | News in Newry
SDLP Crotlieve Representative Anne Sheridan has expressed her concern at recent burglaries in both Warrenpoint and Rostrevor.
The local politician has requested a meeting with the PSNI to discuss how they can provide greater support to the local community.
Sheridan explains, “I would like to add my voice to the chorus of condemnation following the break-in at St. Bronagh’s GAA Social Club.
“This is an attack on the community in Rostrevor and on a club that unites so many people.
“I urge anyone with information to please contact the club or PSNI.
“This break-in comes after recent incidents in the Bridle Lonan, Rathdallan and Avoca Lawn areas of Warrenpoint.
“It is concerning to see an increase in burglaries here.
“More must be done to tackle this type of crime and to ensure people feel safe in their homes.
“Aside from the impact of the burglary itself in terms of material loss, it can also have a long-term impact on victims’ well-being as it is such an invasive crime.
“I have requested a meeting with the PSNI along with my colleague Colin McGrath MLA to discuss how our Local Neighbourhood Policing Team can better support our community in Warrenpoint and Rostrevor,” she adds.
