BHF NI has seven shops at locations in towns and cities across Northern Ireland.

Money raised from stores funds lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases, which cause the deaths of one in four people in Northern Ireland.

The charity’s shops sell a range of items from clothing, books and toys to household items.

BHFNI Area Manager, Maureen McElhatton; says, “We are always looking for quality preloved goods from the public for our stores across Northern Ireland, including our shop in Newry.

“Every item bought or donated to the BHF helps raise money to power lifesaving science to save and improve lives.

“Across Northern Ireland, around 225,000 people are living with heart and circulatory diseases, 20,000 of them in the Newry, Mourne and Down areas.

“Your purchase or donation can help us, help them.

“BHF NI is the biggest independent funder of heart and circulatory disease research in Northern Ireland.

“As the weather turns colder, we are particularly looking for donations of winter stock, especially warm clothing.

“We are also appealing for donations of children’s toys in the run-up to Christmas.

“Our supporters in Newry and the wider area are always so generous in helping with our appeals for stock and donations and we are hoping they will continue to help us make a difference in the lives of others.

“Donating items to BHF NI shops also means they can be reused and find a new life with someone else.

“Each year, the BHF saves around 71,000 tonnes of goods going to waste and through the reuse and recycling of donated items.

“If anyone wants to donate items, they can bring them along to your local British Heart Foundation Shop and they will be gratefully received.”
