Job opportunities on the PwC Professional Services Assured Skills Academy welcomed | Newry News
Economy Minister Gordon Lyons has welcomed the eighth and final in the series of planned PwC Professional Services Assured Skills Academies.
Funded by the Department for the Economy, this final PwC Professional Services Assured Skills Academy will see 20 participants receive eight weeks of industry-relevant pre-employment training delivered by Belfast Metropolitan College (BMC) through a combination of attended and virtual learning.
Encouraging those who meet the entry criteria to apply Gordon Lyons says, “Through our partnership with PwC and Belfast Metropolitan College, we have provided hundreds of people with the skills they need for an exciting career in the professional services sector.
“As we move into a decade of economic transformation around our 10X Economic Vision, strengthening our local skills base and investing in skills is essential to grow our economy.
“My Department’s Assured Skills Academies have a proven successful track record in providing people with high-quality training while helping employers access the skilled people they need to grow.
“These training places will position participants strongly to compete for a job with PwC in this exciting sector and I would encourage anyone interested to apply.”
Successful Academy participants will be part of Operate, PwC’s operational delivery business which provides future-focused solutions to challenging operational issues.
Participants will gain training in areas such as project management, business analysis, commercial awareness, financial accounting, Microsoft, and Google tools.

“Our Assured Skills Academies will continue to help grow the local Northern Ireland economy through the Professional Services Academy and other upcoming academies, with the support of the Department for the Economy and Belfast Metropolitan College.
“Those taking part in the Academies will gain access to exceptional training across a range of skills and areas that are relevant in today’s world, with practical application and insight into working with PwC.”
This opportunity is open to people who have been awarded a Level 5 qualification (HND or Foundation degree) and some experience in an office / banking / professional environment or a 2:2 degree in any discipline.
Participants will receive a weekly training allowance of £155.
They will also be reimbursed for travel expenses and may be eligible for childcare allowance.
Applications for the PwC Professional Services Academy are open now and will close on 4 September 2022.
The selection process will entail a video interview with interviews being held 13, 14 and 15 September 2022.
Training will commence on Monday 10 October 2022 and finish on Friday 2 December 2022.
Applicants should be available for the duration of the training period.
Successful academy participants will be guaranteed an interview with PwC on completion of the training.
