Police call for witnesses after ‘sectarian hate crime’ Newry Times

Police in Newtownhamilton are appealing for witnesses and information following a report of criminal damage to a bilingual Irish language information sign on the Keady Road.

Inspector Campbell comments, “Police received a report at approximately 10.45 pm that a sign had been badly damaged with what appears to be a heavy instrument.

 

 

“This sign has been damaged on several occasions.

“We are treating this as a sectarian hate crime.

“Our enquiries are continuing.

 

 

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area or who may have information that could assist our investigation to contact police on 101.

“Quote reference 1804 28/12/21.”
