McNulty welcomes South Armagh resurfacing works | Newry Times
SDLP MLA Justin McNulty has welcomed the news that improvement works have commenced on roads across South Armagh.
The Newry and Armagh Assembly Member commented, “It’s no secret that our roads have been in a terrible state in recent times.
“Just a few weeks ago in the Assembly, I pressed Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon to prioritise the appalling standards of the roads in South Armagh.
“The fact of the matter is that Stormont’s three-year suspension resulted in our roads falling into decay and disrepair.
“While others have been happy to play the blame game and pose for photos beside potholes, I have been lobbying to have these works actioned urgently.
“It is crucial that all roads that are in need of resurfacing and repairs are completed in plenty of time before the weather turns.
“I am delighted to see these works progress – this is good news for families, commuters, and businesses across South Armagh,” the local MLA added.
