The nationwide campaign which runs every year from 10 – 23 May aims to raise awareness about fostering showcasing how foster care can transform the lives of children and young people.

In line with this year’s theme, #WhyWeCare, FCA one of the largest fostering groups in the UK, has offered out a short questionnaire to its foster parents to share their own experiences.

FCA will be sharing these responses via their social media platforms throughout the two weeks, in the hope that more people will step up and help give a child or young person the fresh start they need.

John Platt, Managing Director for FCA, commented, “After such a difficult year we are looking forward to celebrating all the hard work and resilience our foster parents and staff have shown over the past year.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenging time for everyone, but particularly for foster parents who have welcomed children into their homes during a time of social restrictions and future uncertainty.

“Our foster parents and families have been so inspirational, and we can’t thank them enough for the incredible job they do every single day.

“I am delighted that we can be a part of this campaign to show our support and to say thank you for all the wonderful work they do to help our community’s most vulnerable children.”

One of the responses from the campaign is from an FCA foster parent who began their fostering journey four and half years ago and said, “All children no matter what their circumstance deserves to have a loving and caring family that will nurture them and love them unconditionally without prejudice and without judgement.”

Another response from the campaign is from an FCA foster parent who started their journey in 2020 and said, “The difficult days are worth it when you see a young person in your care on a day when they are relaxed, content and smiling.”

Foster Care Associates, one of the largest fostering groups in the UK, provides foster homes and support for over 1,900 children and young people throughout the UK.
