The South Down MP said, “The Brexit future relationship negotiations get underway again for what is being billed as a crucial week.

“It is vital that the interests of the north of Ireland are upheld.

“The clock is loudly ticking and our businesses, our traders and our farmers need certainty about what will happen.

“A series of unique protections have been agreed by the EU and the British government in order to prevent any hardening of the border, to protect the all-Ireland economy and to protect the Good Friday Agreement.

“Boris Johnson and the British government negotiators need to cut the nonsense and rhetoric and remember what they have already agreed to and implement it,” the local MP adds.
