COVID-19 Primary Care Centres “not a walk-in service”

The Southern Health and Social Care Trust is reminding the public how to use the COVID-19 Primary Care Centres in Dungannon and Banbridge.

The centres are for clinical assessment following a referral from your own GP.

They operate on an appointment-only system and do not offer testing for COVID-19.

The Centres, which opened their doors on 30 March 2020, are for the people who live in the Southern Trust area.

Current opening hours are:

Dungannon: 8 am – 6 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8 am to 10 pm Friday Saturday and Sunday.

Banbridge: 8 am – 10 pm Monday to Thursday, 8 am – 6 pm Friday. The Banbridge centre is currently closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Patients presenting with COVID-19 symptoms to their GP or the Urgent Care Out of Hours service (OOHs) are triaged and risk assessed.

When the person requires a face to face clinical assessment, the GP in the practice or OOHs will arrange an appointment at the COVID Primary Care Centre or through a home visit if possible.

Onward referral can be made to other primary or secondary Trust services as needed.

The Centre works through a referral process from GP practices or OOHs and therefore this is not a “walk-in” service.
