In addition, the store will have a Game shop selling the latest gaming releases and accessories as well as the impressive Belong Gaming Arena where gamers can play on high spec gaming PCs.

It really does offer the wow factor in terms of sport and leisure in the Greater Newry area Centre.

Speaking to Newry Times, Manager Peter Murray said, “Buttercrane is delighted to welcome this fantastic new USC/Sports Direct megastore to the centre.

“This is the largest retail store to open in NI since the lifting of Lockdown.

“I am certain the offering of fashion, sports and leisure will prove a huge attraction for the centre offering as it does something for shoppers of all interests.

“To have a major anchor store open at a time of perpetual challenge for bricks and mortar retail is a huge vote of confidence in the high street and in Buttercrane in particular,” he added.
