Speaking to Newry Times, the local Councillor said, “I have been contacted by a resident of Flagstaff Court in Newry, who came home to find her home ransacked.

The burglary happened between 5.45 pm and 8.20 pm.

“A sum of money was taken.”

The Sinn Féin representative continued, “Again we see an attack on our community and have a young family traumatised by this unscrupulous act.

“Those involved in these criminal acts care nothing about the trauma and hurt they were causing to their victims.

“They must be apprehended and face the full rigours of the law,” she insisted.

“Please make sure your properties are secured and stay vigilant.

“If anyone has any information regarding this most recent please contact the Police,” Councillor Harte added.
