PwC Assured Skills Academy offering 20 places launched

A new PwC Assured Skills Academy offering 20 high-quality training places is a fantastic opportunity to kick start a career in professional services, Economy Minister Diane Dodds has said.

The PwC Software Testing and Automation Academy offers people with degrees the opportunity to gain industry-relevant pre-employment training.

 

 

Participants who complete the Academy are guaranteed an interview for a role at PwC.

Training will be delivered remotely over a nine-week period by Belfast Met.

Speaking about the Academy, the Minister said, “PwC is the largest firm of professional advisers in Northern Ireland and it is fantastic to see the company’s growth plans here.

“Following the announcement last November of 600 new jobs across a range of services, I am pleased that the company is pressing on with the project, helping breed confidence in our local economy.

 

 

“These training places, funded by my Department, will position participants strongly to compete for a job in this exciting and growing sector.”

The Minister added, “No experience in professional services is needed as all training will be provided.

“I encourage anyone with a degree and who meets the eligibility criteria to apply for this excellent opportunity.”

Deborah Stevenson, Operate Director at PwC, said, “We’re delighted to offer 20 more high-quality training places.

 

 

“Software Testing and Automation skills are increasingly in-demand in Northern Ireland and within PwC globally.

“This Academy will enable people to embark on careers in this key growth area.

She added, “We’re keen to hear from recent graduates and people wishing to change career as we continue to grow our tech-enabled business.”

Louise Warde Hunter, Principal and Chief Executive at Belfast Met, stated, “We are delighted to be delivering this latest Academy in partnership with PwC and DfE.

“These academies provide an excellent opportunity for participants to gain the key skills they need to kick-start their career in technology.

“Belfast Met has been successfully delivering Assured Skills Academies, across a range of disciplines for a number of years, with a high percentage of people securing jobs as a result.

Applications for the PwC Software Testing and Automation Assured Skills Academy are open until 21 July 2020.

No experience is required.

Applicants must hold a 2:2 degree or better in any discipline.
