Man arrested on suspicion of Newry burglary

Detectives investigating a burglary at residential premises in the Cregganduff Road area of Newry have arrested a man.

He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, which happened on Tuesday 19 November.

Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Inspector Handley said, “Detectives, conducting a search in Lurgan, arrested the 38-year-old man on 20 December.

 

 

“This was thanks to collective efforts, with support from our Tactical Support Group colleagues in Newry.

“The man remains in custody, assisting with enquiries.

 

 

“Our enquiries continue, and we continue to appeal to anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 783 of 19/11/19.

“Information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” Detective Inspector Handley added.
