38-year-old man dies after being hit by car in Newry

A 38-year-old male pedestrian has died after being struck by a car on Warrenpoint Road, Newry this morning, Saturday 21 December.

The collision occurred on the A2 dual carriageway between Warrenpoint and Newry.

The road had been closed for a time but has since reopened.



The collision, which involved a black Renault Clio, occurred approximately two miles from Newry.

It happened at around 5am.

Police would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with information that could assist their investigation.
