Sinn Féin MP Chris Hazzard has said it’s time Boris Johnson and the Tories abandoned their “delusional approach to Brexit” and realised the backstop is not open to renegotiation.

Speaking to Newry Times, the South Down MP said, “The EU have been clear and consistent that there will be no renegotiation of the Withdrawal Agreement and the backstop it contains and that was the message British prime minister Boris Johnson heard once again.

“It is high time Boris Johnson and the British government dropped their delusional approach to Brexit and realised that the backstop won’t be renegotiated.

“It’s becoming increasingly clear that the Tories are intent on a no-deal Brexit, regardless of the disastrous consequences.

He added, “We need to see the EU and the Irish government standing firm by the backstop in the face of the bluster and increasingly desperate rhetoric of Johnson and the Tories.”

The solution to the “border question” is erase the border. ENGLAND OUT OF IRELAND. As an Orange-sympathizing American, I say, IT’S TIME:::: UNITE IRELAND NOW. And listen up ENGLAND: we will NOT bail you out… Not on your life.
