Appeal for witnesses after burglary in Newry
Police are appealing for information and witnesses following the report of a burglary at commercial premises in the Drumintee Road area of Newry in the early hours Tuesday 28 May.
Speaking to Newry Times, Constable McKevitt said, “We received the report of the burglary just after 3.30am [28 May].
“It is believed that four men, wearing hooded tops and gloves, forced their way into the property, causing damage to the roller shutter and door.
“After taking a sum of money, it’s reported that the four made off in a Volkswagen Golf.
Constable McKevitt added, “We are appealing to anyone with information, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 143 of 28/05/19.”
“Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the powerto speak up and stop crime.”
