4 Awards for Health Care Staff at NI Health Care Awards

Health Professionals from the Southern Health and Social Care Trust have been recognised amongst the best in Northern Ireland at the recent Healthcare Awards ceremony.

The Awards, now in their twentieth year, recognise projects and professionals that set the benchmark for industry excellence.

 

 

They recognise team members that have gone that extra mile to help patients, colleagues or their local communities.

It has rewarded an array of the most innovative initiatives and hardworking teams across the industry – and this year was no exception.

The Trust were shortlisted for 4 categories of which they won 3 and were runners up in the 4th.

Winner of the ‘Management of Rheumatic Disease in women of childbearing age’ Award went to Dr Nicola Maiden and the Craigavon Rheumatology Biologics Team.

 

 

Winner of the ‘Most Innovating use of an EHealth solution to improve patient care and safety’ Award went to Claire Russell, Sharon McKinstry and the District Nursing Service Team.

Winner of the ‘Innovative Developments in the management of inflammatory bowel disease’ Award went to Ruth Hall and the Self-management / Flare Card project team.

Carol Patton and the Heart Failure Team were awarded runner up for the ‘Heart Failure management’ Award.

 

 

Trust staff were also involved in the judging stage of the Awards.

Congratulating all the shortlisted and winning entrants, Shane Devlin, Trust Chief Executive said, “Thanks to our dedicated and talented teams of health care staff we provide excellent standards of care to so many people. 

“We are proud of the great outcomes our colleagues help to achieve in developing such innovative services which help improve the lives of so many local people and we enjoy showcasing their work in national and regional awards.

 

 

“Entering awards enables us to benchmark ourselves against competitors, enabling us to learn and develop.

He added, “When we win awards we’re giving service users, staff and even prospective employees the reassurance that we are the best. Vitally, we’re also giving our teams important recognition for their achievements.”
