Newry MP raises Daisy Hill ward closure concerns
Newry and Armagh MP Mickey has said that he awaits a response from the Southern Health and Social Care Trust in relation to concerns raised about the closure of the High Dependency Unit at Daisy Hill Hospital.
Speaking to Newry Times, the local MP said, “It has been reported that the High Dependency Unit at Daisy Hill has been closed to new admissions because of a flu outbreak.
“The Ward itself has been placed in Quarantine.
“I have no doubt that this will compound the pressures that our hospital services and staff are presently under.
“I have asked the Trust to confirm details of the shutdown of the High Dependency Unit which caters for the most seriously ill patients and also as to how those patients needing such medical attention are now being catered for,” he added.
