Free Brexit event to take place in Newry
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council have invited all residents and business owners to a free Brexit event, with BrexitLawNI, to capture views on how Brexit has been impacting people living in the district.
The event takes place on Thursday 4 October 2018 in the Auditorium, Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, Bank Parade, Newry BT35 6HP at 7pm.
BrexitLawNI has been engaged in a research project, in the past eighteen months, looking at the human rights, conflict transformation and constitutional implications of Brexit for Northern Ireland.
The research team is comprised of academics from the law schools of Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University and staff from the Committee on the Administration of Justice.
During September 2018, BrexitLawNI published reports regarding the impact of Brexit in six key areas: the peace process, North-South relations, the border and free movement, racism and xenophobia, human rights and equality, and socio-economic rights.
At this event, members of the BrexitLawNI team will briefly discuss some of the key findings of their research; leaving the majority of the time for questions and discussion with the audience.
