17-year-old stabbed in Rostrevor assault

Police in Newry are appealing for information following a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Bridge Street area of Rostrevor in the early hours of Saturday 28 July.

Shortly before 2:40 am, it was reported that a 17-year-old male received stab wounds to his back following an assault outside the premises.



He was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in relation to the incident but was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.



Constable Leah Heasley appealed for anyone with information regarding the incident to contact officers in Newry on 101 quoting 242 28/07/18.

She added, “Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
