Ennis calls on Translink to improve services to Newry

Local MLA Sinéad Ennis has requested that Translink improve their bus services to Newry from surrounding areas in South Down.

Speaking to Newry Times, the South Down MLA said, “I have been in contact with Translink NI to discuss the current services that they operate from South Down to Newry.

“I have highlighted the current situation with no bus service running close to the Milltown Industrial Estate near Warrenpoint.

“This is something that puts a real burden on the many hundreds of workers who have to travel to the site every day for work.

“I have also asked them to consider other improvements and I am pleased to inform that Translink will be carrying out a service review into their routes operating from Rostrevor and Warrenpoint to Newry,” she added.
