Sinn Féin MP Chris Hazzard has urged the community to remain vigilant.

He was speaking following a recent spate of burglaries in South Down.

Chris Hazzard told Newry Times, “In recent weeks we have seen citizens fall victim to a spate of armed robberies in several rural areas across South Down.

“I know the local community is stunned by the shocking nature of a number of these crimes.

“I am urging local residents to be mindful in the time ahead, and bring forward any information they may have to the PSNI,” he added.
