Community, What's On

Translink is encouraging people in Newry to give public transport a go this autumn.

To make it even easier to hop on-board, there’s 1/3 off day return travel on all Ulsterbus and Goldline services after 9.30am from 1st September to 31st October.

Encouraging local people to make the most of the discount ticket, Carol Lundy, Translink said, “Translink is committed to delivering great value fares this autumn to encourage more people to make the most of public transport in their area.

“In doing so, we’re making it as easy as possible for residents to travel, shop, attend appointments and socialise, without the hassle of driving and parking.

“As well as improving connectivity, our services also play an important role in supporting the local economy, boosting business trade and tourism in local villages, towns and cities,” she continued.

“As we settle back in to our regular routines after summer, September and October are traditionally busy months on the roads. This year, we’ve launched this great value day return ticket to help inspire people to make travelling by bus and coach one of their regular habits.

Carol added, “So whether you’re an existing passenger or travelling with us for the first time, we’d encourage you to make the most of great value travel and look forward to welcoming you on board over the coming months!”
