Speaking following the release of A Level results on Thursday, the Sinn Féin Equality Spokesperson said, “I want to wish everyone receiving a result every success.

“Exam results steadily improve year on year, and credit must be paid to three successive Sinn Féin Education Ministers for their work in developing our education system.
“The fact that this has been achieved in a context of relentless Tory austerity and cuts to school budgets speaks also to the efforts of teachers and public sector staff.
She added, “Our society prospers through the work of our teachers, carers and parents, and today is a day to celebrate their role in educating and supporting young people in what can be a challenging time in their lives.”
