Two men appear in court over Warrenpoint incident

Detectives have charged two men aged 22 and 23 with a number of offences.

The offences include fraud by false representation; failing to give notice of the right to cancel a contract and acting as a pedlar without a contract.

It is believed the charges are in connection with an incident in the Warrenpoint area when three males called at a house offering to power wash the roof of an elderly residents house.

They appeared at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 3rd August.

As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

A 42 year old man who was also arrested was released on bail.
