Burglars ‘spoke to elderly woman’ while robbing her South Armagh home

psni57Police in Newry are appealing for information following the report of a burglary at a house on Church Road in Forkhill on Sunday 26th March.

Police received a report that two men entered the house of an elderly woman sometime around 5pm on Sunday afternoon.


 

 

It is believed that the woman is aged in her 80’s.

Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Constable Skillen explained, “Once inside, the men spoke to the woman whilst moving through several rooms looking through drawers and cupboards.


 

“They stayed in the house for around 5 minutes before leaving via the front door.

“Nothing is believed to have been taken at this time and the woman was not injured by the men.


 

“Both men were described as being aged in their 20’s and around 5’10” tall.

“An investigation into this incident is ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in or around the area of Church Road on Sunday to contact detectives in Ardmore on 101 quoting reference number 912 26/03/17.”
