Man charged with drugs offences as police probe Bessbrook sudden death
A 48 year old man has been charged by police with being concerned in the supply of a class A controlled drug and possession of a class B controlled drug.
The charges are in connection with the arrest of a man by Detectives in Reactive and Organised Crime in Newry investigating the sudden death of a woman in her 30s.
The woman died in a house in the Orior Park area of Bessbrook on Tuesday 21 February.
During a related search police also seized £2000 in cash and a number of other items were taken away for examination.
He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates Court on Wednesday 22nd March.
Speaking to Newry Times on Friday, Newry & Armagh Sinn Féin Assembly Election Candidate Conor Murphy commented, “It is tragic to learn that a young woman has lost her life.
“Her family are in deep shock and they are in our thoughts at this moment as they come to terms with this sudden death.”
He added, “Police are investigating the circumstances and anyone who feels they can help with the investigation should contact the PSNI immediately.”
