Job vacancy: Solicitor/Barrister in Plaintiff Litigation Services, Warrenpoint

Your new company:

Gary3Gary Matthews Solicitors is a leading Company in the Plaintiff Litigation Services sector and is recruiting for capable Solicitor(s) and/or Barrister(s) to join their Plaintiff Litigation Team on a full time basis based in Warrenpoint County Down.

Your new role:

You will work within the Plaintiff Litigation Division handling claims involving all aspects of Plaintiff litigation and in particular dealing with banking issues, including breaches of Contract and loans which are considered “criticised”, meaning that the Plaintiff is in financial difficulty but it is hoped that the Plaintiff can be restored to a sound financial position.

The division comprises a Principal, two Solicitors, and c.6 support staff. The team’s office is in open plan format.

What you’ll need to succeed:

Ideally you will be a Solicitor and/or Barrister qualified to practise in Ireland (or in Northern Ireland, England and Wales) with 2 years’ + PQE. Your experience would include Plaintiff litigation and/or some banking or insolvency law experience, or failing that, property law experience.

Candidates, in addition to having the required experience, you should ideally:

1. Have good oral and written communication skills;
2. Have some experience of transactional work;
3. Have a knowledge of drafting pleadings and agreements;
4. Have an ability to work as part of a team and to form good working relationships with colleagues, clients and others;
5. Demonstrate initiative in handling the matters allocated to them;
6. Be willing to carry out necessary research;
7. Be able to work efficiently and prioritise tasks appropriately.

Salary: Very competitive salary which is negotiable depending on experience.

Other: Overtime is available on this team where there is a perceived need. Annual leave is 28 days – including 10 UK Bank Holidays.
