Ladies GAA team switch on Camlough Christmas lights

camlough-lightsShane O Neills Ladies team, who recently suffered a heartbreaking defeat in their recent All Ireland Intermediate Club Final, received a heroes welcome from the huge crowd present at the annual Camlough Village Christmas Light Switch On.

Hundreds of young people and adults gave a rapturous applause to the Armagh & Ulster Club Champions.

There was also a similar welcome for Santa Claus and his team of Elves provided by the local Youth Club. The Camlough Brass & Reed Band and the Choir of St Malachys Primary School provided the festive music and song.

There was also a Funfair in the grounds of the old school.

Local Councillor Roisin Mulgrew, speaking at the event, commended all involved in what she described as a “wonderful night of family festive fun”.

She added, “The Camlough Community Association are to be congratulated for their ongoing work focusing on building community confidence, cohesion, self esteem and well being.”
