Tricia O’Neill, Secretary, commented, “Children and young people are a high-risk group on the roads, therefore we aim to educate children on road safety through a variety of campaigns each year. We recognise the importance of teaching Road Safety to children at a young age as they are the most vulnerable of all road users.
“The posters that were designed by these young children were outstanding and clearly demonstrate that children as young as 8 years old have a thorough understanding of the dangers on our roads and we are confident they will spread this valuable message to their families and friends.”

The 13 winners will each receive a £10 Quays voucher and 4 calendars each for their families and the 6 runners up will receive calendars. Calendars will also be distributed to all the Primary Schools in the Newry, Mourne and Down Council area.
