Local councillor raises community concerns about Glassdrummond Road

winter12Slieve Gullion area Sinn Féin Councillor Terry Hearty has raised the issue of gritting on the Glassdrummond Road and its added danger with the winter freezing conditions with senior Road officials.

The local Councillor explained, “We have had ongoing problems with concerns about safety along this road when the frost comes.

“The very fine surface, compounded by the wetness due to water springs, has resulted in it ending up like a skating rink.

30th-nov-2016-small-box“This problem needs addressed as already serious problems are being encountered with those accessing St Brigid’s Glassdrummond Primary School and we are also witnessing school buses being unable to do their collections.

He added, “I have contacted senior Roads Officers to highlight the concerns of the local residents, pedestrians and motorists.
