The local charity, which does excellent work in the community providing hyperbaric oxygen therapy to those with long term and short-term medical conditions, was recently presented with a cheque by members of Armagh Down CC.

The club’s sportive, held last May, was a huge success and saw 140 riders from across the island of Ireland tackle the Ring of Guillion, an area of outstanding natural beauty, and enjoy a few hours of fantastic cycling.

Presenting the cheque, Armagh Down CC Chairman, Benny Smyth said, “Not only was our inaugural sportive a great success but we were able to raise much-needed funds for Multiple Sclerosis Newry, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.”

Benny continued, “We hope that the money raised will make a big difference to those who rely on this local charity for help. We are currently welcoming applications from local charities for 2017 so please contact us if you would like to work with us.”

Sheila Carragher, Centre Manager, Multiple Sclerosis Newry, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy said, “We are an independent local charity, which has been providing advice, therapy and support to those suffering from Multiple Sclerosis for more than 25 years.
