The theme of the event is ‘Living together in culturally diverse societies; respect, dialogue, interaction.’ “It will encourage young people to voice their opinions on issues of interest to them and to raise the profile of local democracy, and the role of the Council and our Councillors” said Cllr Stokes. “The young people involved will take up the councillors seats in the chamber and have the opportunity to question a panel of Newry, Mourne & Down Councillors, a senior council officer relevant to the topic of Brexit and an external spokeperson on culturally diverse societies and refugees.
