Murphy welcomes moves to block water charges

MurphyardSinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has welcomed moves to ensure that domestic water charges are blocked in the North. Speaking to Newry Times, Murphy said, “A joint proposal was brought to the Executive to maintain the Executive’s policy of no domestic water charges. “I am pleased that the Executive backed this proposal and that homeowners in the North will not be charged for water. “Access to water is a basic right and we will ensure that water charges will continue to be blocked.

September 2016“Sinn Féin remains absolutely opposed to the introduction of domestic water charges north or south,” he added.
