St Paul’s Bessbrook receive prestigious award
St. Paul’s High School in Bessbrook has won the Department of Education Derrytrasna Pastoral Care Award 2016 (post primary).
The public were invited to nominate a school that they feel has demonstrated ‘exceptional’ pastoral care provision in supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of pupils and their families.
These nominations were then moderated by a judging panel from the Department of Education.
The presentation ceremony took place in Stormont on 21st June.
Mr Jarlath Burns (principal), Mrs Mary Mc Mahon (SENCO), Ryan Cinnamond (past Pupil) and some of the Student Leadership Team were there to collect the award.

A spokesperson for the local school said, “The entire staff were delighted to receive this award as everyone is involved in the provision of pastoral care towards the pupils and it is great to get this type of recognition.”
