Newry toddlers raise money for Barnardo’s NI

Toddlers from Naiscoll Na Mbeann in Newry raised £178 for children’s charity Barnardo’s by taking part in a fun-filled pirate themed Big Toddle in aid of the charity last summer.

The little toddlers dressed up as pirates and dBanardos-Logoonned eye patches to complete a half a mile toddle in order to raise money to support Barnardo’s work with disadvantaged children, young people and families.

Speaking to Newry Times, Lynda Wilson, Director Barnardo’s NI said, “A massive thank you to everyone from Naiscoll Na Mbeann who took part in last year’s Big Toddle.

“The money raised goes directly to our work with children and young people locally and really helps make a difference to their lives.”

She added, “Since the Big Toddle started in 1997 it has raised more than £14m across the UK for Barnardo’s and as this year is Barnardo’s 150th anniversary we’re hoping even more toddlers and their families will support us in a series of animal-themed Big Toddles.”
