New support library for Foster Carers in Newry
A new library of information is available to foster carers and social workers in the Southern Health and Social Care Trust area.
Developed by Newry Foster Care Group, the wide range of literature is available to help carers in their role of supporting young people in care.
Paul Morgan, Director of Children and Young People’s Services for the Southern Health and Social Care Trust said, “Being a foster carer is quite rewarding but also quite challenging, this new library gives carers and those thinking of becoming foster carers extra support in addition to the training and advice which we already offer.
“There is always a need for more foster carers, and we are always looking for people who are interested in helping our young people, by providing short or long term placements, as well as respite care.”
