Two men arrested in Newry charged with 13 local burglaries

Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime have charged two men in relation to thirteen burglaries.

Newry Court HouseThe 24 year old and 42 year old men were arrested in Newry on Tuesday, 9th February.

They were both charged in relation to burglaries which occurred between July and September 2015 in Newry, Jonesborough, Forkhill, Killeavy, Warrenpoint, Silverbridge and Keady.

They were further charged in relation to an aggravated burglary in Keady on 30th January, 2016 and a burglary in Mullaghbawn on the same date.

The 42 year old man was also charged with theft in relation to an incident in Crossmaglen on 22nd September, 2015.

Both appeared before Newry magistrates’ Court this morning, 10th February. As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
