Handbag stolen after car window smashed in Newry

Police in Newry are appealing for information after a car was broken into.

car theftSometime between 2pm and 3.30pm on Sunday, 10th January, the rear passenger window of a grey coloured Renault Scenic, parked in Sheepbridge car park, was smashed and a handbag was stolen.

Speaking to Newry Times, Constable John Bogle said, “The car park was full at the time this occurred and I would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this incident. We can be contacted in Ardmore on 101, quoting ref: 660 100116.

He added, “I would also remind motorists to ensure they do not leave valuables in their vehicles when they leave them unattended. Also try to park in a well lit areas to reduce the chance of becoming a victim of this type of crime.”
