Possible link between Mayobridge and Hilltown burglaries

Police in Newry are appealing for information following two burglaries.

burglary4Sometime between 4.50pm and 5pm on Saturday, 12th december, entry was forced to a house in Hillcrest, Mayobridge.

A sum of cash was taken and three males travelling in a blue Vauxhall Vectra were observed in the area. The car drove off in the direction of Newry.

In another incident entry was forced to a property in Spelga park, Hilltown between 11am and 6.20pm on Saturday, 12th December. Nothing was taken. A dark blue coloured Vauxhall Vectra was also observed in the area between 4pm and 4.30pm.

Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Jill Browne said, “We are investigating a possible link between these two incidents and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any activity in either area or anyone who has information which may assist our investigation.
