Speaking to Newry Times, the Independent Councillor stated, “I know that there have been some break ins in the area recently and I call on the people of Newry to be vigilant in the run up to Christmas. “Christmas is one of those times of the year when we see an increase in break-ins and I call on everyone to be careful and report anything out of the ordinary. “At the end of the day we all want to enjoy our Christmas and spend time with our family and friends; the last thing anyone needs is for their home to be broken into. He added, “I call on people to be vigilant, stay safe and if possible check in on your elderly neighbours from time to time during the festive season.”
