Newry Fire Cadets Leaders win Community Award
The Leaders of the Newry Fire Cadets Programme have Won the Community Award at the NIFRS Employee Awards 2015.
The 18 Leaders were nominated because of their valuable contribution to the success of the Newry Fire Cadets Programme and their work with the young people in the area.
The Leaders are all volunteers who give their time to run the weekly programme for young people. They have also helped raise over £6000 for charity in conjunction with the Newry Fire Cadets.
Speaking to Newry Times, Dale Ashford, Interim Chief Fire & Rescue Officer, said, “I am extremely proud of the achievements of all our staff who received an Employee Award. This was our opportunity to celebrate the success of our people and to say thank you to them for their hard work, professionalism and commitment.
“They are a credit to NIFRS and are representative of the many individuals and teams, from across the organisation, who work hard on a daily basis to provide the best possible fire and rescue service to the people of Northern Ireland.”
Thomas Craughall, Newry Fire Cadets Branch Chairperson said, “We are all delighted to have been recognised for our work with the young people of Newry through our Fire Cadets programme.
He added, “While this Award was presented to the Newry Branch we accept this award on behalf of all the Cadet Leaders involved in the Fire Cadets Programme across Northern Ireland.”
