Santa’s on his way to The Quays, Newry
The countdown to Christmas kicks off in style at The Quays Shopping Centre in Newry this Saturday 14th November, when Santa arrives in his horse and carriage at 12noon.
Joining Santa as he arrives at The Quays will be a special family of helpers, who will be chosen at random from entries submitted via The Quays Facebook page during the past week.
The festivities kick off at 10am with Christmas Kids Club activities, including letter writing to Santa, with music from Sound Function DJs from 11am and seasonal treats for shoppers, in preparation to welcome Santa at the front door of The Quays (car park entrance) at 12noon.
Santa will host a special storytime with all the young shoppers around the Christmas Tree before he takes up residence in his Ice Palace in the middle of the centre, where children can pay him a visit right up until Christmas Eve.
Speaking to Newry Times, Cathal Austin, Centre Manager at The Quays said, “Santa’s arrival is an extra special day in The Quays event calendar. It’s a very exciting time for customers and tenants alike as we begin to see festive offers in stores, winter warmers in our eateries, great films at the Omniplex as well as lots of entertainment on the mall right up to Christmas.
“And with free late night parking from 6pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, there’s plenty of time to shop for all the Christmas gifts you need for family and friends,” he added.
