The event, which is free and open to all, will take place in the City Hotel, Armagh.

Speaking ahead of the event, Gillian McPherson, Manager of Armagh Jobs and Benefits office in DEL’s Employment Service, said, “This event brings employers, support organisations and jobseekers together under one roof.

“The Job Fair has something for everyone and I would encourage anyone, whether in work, unemployed or simply considering their education and training options, to explore the services that will be available on the day.”

The Jobs and Advice Fair will offer jobseekers employment opportunities, careers guidance, and advice on training and jobsearch skills. Over 30 employers including Almac, McCloskey International and BT will be in attendance, as will a number of support and training organisations.

Dympna Boyle, Coordinator of the EURES IE/NI Cross Border Partnership said, “A range of support organisations, for example the EURES IE/NI Cross Border Partnership, DEL’s Careers Service and Employment Service and DSP’s Employment Engagement Service, will be present to provide individuals with information, advice and guidance on a range of training and employment schemes.

She added, “These can assist individuals to progress towards work and better employment prospects, equipping them with the skills to compete in the labour market and meet the needs of employers both now and in the future.”

Visitors to the event will also have the opportunity to participate in a series of job club workshops and can receive assistance with online jobsearch.

Moyra Rafferty from McCloskey International, a Coalisland based engineering company specialising in crushing, screening and recycling equipment who will be recruiting at the event said, “The Jobs Fair gives us the opportunity to interact with potential applicants and allows our recruitment to be more effective.

“This event demonstrates that the EURES Cross Border Partnership, DEL, DSP, local employers and training organisations in the border region are working in partnership to help jobseekers find the most appropriate route into employment and employers recruit a skilled work force.”
