The South Armagh MLA said the meeting was in relation to proposed traffic calming measures in the Park View area.

“We had a positive meeting with Roads Service and they certainly took on board the concerns of residents about cars speeding through the area,” she said.

“I’m disappointed that they have told us plans for traffic calming measures in the area have not been included in their 2016/17 plan but they have assured us that the road does qualify for additional traffic calming measures and that it remains high on their list of priorities.

“My colleague Liz Kimmins has been working on this issue with other Sinn Féin reps for a number of years now and this decision will certainly not dissuade her from continuing to fight for greater road safety measures in the area. We will continue to push for this project and keep it on the Roads Service agenda,” Fearon added.
