Daisy Hill Hospital Emergency Department issues to be discussed

Sinn Fein MLA Conor Murphy is to meet Health Minister Simon Hamilton to discuss plans for a long term solution to the issues facing Daisy Hill’s Emergency Department.

“While there may be a stopgap solution in place right now what the people of the area need is a long term, reliable resolution,” he said.

“People in the area need to be confident that the Emergency Department will always be there for them when disaster strikes and if Daisy Hill is to attract the doctors and specialists it needs it must be recognised as a fully functional major hospital, not a daytime clinic.

Murphy added, “The Minister has agreed to meet me to discuss the needs of the area and at the top of my list I will be pushing the need for a stable, permanent solution to the Emergency Department dilemma.”
