Active citizens must be encouraged

Sinn Féin South Down MLA Caitríona Ruane has congratulated the continued work of volunteers like ‘Love Your Lough’, who have been active in cleaning up the beaches around Carlingford. County Louth.

Ruane told Newry Times, “I am delighted that these volunteers have won Best Community Group Award at a recent awards ceremony.

“Such groups are an inspiration to all of us in South Down to be active citizens and play our part in maintaining the beauty of our area by keeping it litter free,” she added.
